Description

Craving a healthy, quick meal that’s rich in flavor and nutrients? Look no further! Our Tuna Melt Patties are not only easy to make but also a delight for your taste buds. Perfect for those following a keto lifestyle, these patties pack a punch of flavor with gooey cheese and a hint of mustard.

Ingredients

Scale

To get started, gather the following ingredients:

  • 2 (5-ounce) cans of tuna, drained

  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder

  • ½ teaspoon onion powder

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

  • 1 large egg

  • ¼ cup almond flour (or breadcrumbs if not following a keto diet)

  • ¼ cup shredded cheddar cheese

  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise

  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)

  • 1 tablespoon butter or oil (for frying)

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Tuna Mixture

In a large mixing bowl, combine the drained tuna, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to ensure the tuna is evenly seasoned.

Step 2: Incorporate Wet Ingredients

Add the egg, mayonnaise, and Dijon mustard to the tuna mixture. Stir until the ingredients are fully integrated, creating a cohesive mixture.

Step 3: Add the Dry Ingredients

Fold in the almond flour (or breadcrumbs) and shredded cheddar cheese. Optionally, mix in the chopped fresh parsley for an additional burst of freshness.

Step 4: Form the Patties

Using your hands, shape the mixture into small patties. Aim for about 6–8 patties, depending on your preferred size.

Step 5: Fry the Patties

In a large skillet, heat the butter or oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the tuna patties and fry for about 3–4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy.

Notes

Ensure the tuna is well-drained to maintain the structure of the patties.

Adjust seasoning to taste, keeping in mind that canned tuna can already be salty.
